The MP-2A from A-Designs is a stereo tube microphone preamp and DI that works with any kind of input source from ribbon microphones to vintage analog synthesizers. The design features an all-discrete signal path with high-quality components, specifically chosen for their reliability and performance. It features EF86 input tubes and 6N1-P output tubes, plus custom Cinemag output transformers. The two channels each feature both XLR and high-Z DI inputs. For condenser microphones, you get access to switchable +48V phantom power. Reduce signals using the -20dB pad and use the polarity inversion switch to record out-of-phase sounds for enhanced stereo imaging or eliminate phase cancelation. The tone switches offer four unique sonic palettes to choose from and easily recall. Large VU meters give direct visual feedback of your signal's strength over time.
