The 512c is an extremely versatile microphone and line preamp for the front-end of your 500 series rack that can bring pretty much any signal up to a recordable level, and with API's distinctive analog warmth, too. Pulled straight from the revered Channel Strip, the 512c uses the same op amps and transformers found in all of API's preamps, and its no-compromise design means it offers mic and high-impedance inputs, generous gain, and API's unique 3:1 transformer tap selection switch for a variety of applications.
