With the Symphony I/O MkII, Apogee has mobilized some of the most advanced technology ever included in an audio interface. For starters, it contains two analog line level XLR inputs alongside six DB-25 line level outputs. This latter configuration allows for multiple monitor pairings and 5.1 surround mixing.
Underneath its flashy exterior, the Symphony I/O mkII's inputs boast a 124dB dynamic range with THD+N of -116dB, while its outputs have 131dB with THD+N of -118dB. Its D/A stage makes use of the most pristine DAC technology, which has been optimized for mastering engineers, allowing for the utmost transparency so that nuanced changes can be made.
This version of the Symphony I/O mkII is designed specifically for use with Pro Tools HD, no matter whether the host system is Mac or PC. Simply connect the unit to Pro Tools HDX, Pro Tools HD Native, or Pro Tools Core/Accel system.
