Boss' DS-1W has been outfitted with high quality, discrete, analog components and a recently upgraded two-stage circuit with both transistor and op-amp gain stages. Two modes on the DS-1W make it incredibly versatile while staying true to the original 1978 circuitry. In the Standard mode, you get, well, the original tight distortion sound, while the Custom mode is fatter, has more midrange, and with higher headroom along with increased sensitivity for dynamic playing.
