Combining aspects of both Freeze and Superego, the Electro-Harmonix Pico Deep Freeze is an infinite sound sustainer pedal like no other. Classic EHX Freeze behavior is found with the Dry and Effect controls—set your blend of signals as desired and tap the footswitch to let notes or chords sustain forever! But with the addition of the Mode switch, you can set drones to latch, sustain only while the switch is held down, or auto-trigger as new notes are played. The Superego influence comes into play with the Speed/Layer and Gliss controls. In Momentary and Auto modes, this sets the attack/decay times and crossfade respectively, while in Latch mode you can define the number of layers to create dense and stacked chords.
