The Electro-Harmonix Q-Tron Plus features the same design as their original Q-Tron pedal, albeit with an integrated effects loop and attack response switch. With the effects loop, musicians can place an effect (or effects chain) in-between the unit’s preamp and filter section without having to alter the envelope drive. This feature is particularly useful with distortion devices, since many do not have an amplitude envelope. Additionally, the incorporation of an FX loop enables a nearly limitless array of combinations, affording users the ability to unleash their creative potential to the fullest extent.

The unit also features a response switch that alters between a smooth, vowel-esque attack to the lighting fast response enjoyed by its older sibling. There is also a selectable low-pass, high-pass, and band-pass filters alongside a resonant peak control that aptly adjusts the filter’s Q from unsuspectingly subtle to unabashedly dramatic.
