Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th Gen

Newly revamped, the Scarlett Solo 4th Gen continues in Focusrite's tradition of providing the best features possible in a portable USB-C audio interface, and comes with an impressive suite of software to enhance your productions. Whether you're just starting out or looking for a stellar portable audio interface, there's a reason that the Focusrite Scarlett series continues to be a top choice for musicians, recording engineers, and producers of all types. Best of all, the Scarlett line continues to prove that you don't need to shell out tons of money to get professional studio audio quality on everything from demos to fully mixed tracks ready to be released.

In line with past Scarlett offerings, Scarlett Solo is the most compact offering of the bunch, targeting singer-songwriters or instrumentalists who typically need to record one or maybe two tracks at a time. In this vein, Scarlett Solo features a 1/4" input for line or instrument-level sources on the front and an XLR microphone input on the back—both of which feature Scarlett preamps for remarkably clear sound. You'll find input level controls with Dynamic Gain Halos surrounding them for easy indication of signal levels, with plenty of gain on tap for boosting dynamic microphones, instruments, and more to optimal signal levels. Of course, 48V phantom power is available for condenser microphones, alongside Focusrite's unique Air circuit that can add high-end interest to any instrument.

Of course, getting sounds into your recordings is only part of the equation—you need to be able to hear what's going on too! Thankfully, Scarlett Solo makes monitoring a breeze—set the big Output level control as desired for your studio monitors or use the newly added headphones level control to hear yourself while wearing a pair of cans. In either case, the Direct button allows you to pass input signals straight to the monitoring outputs, bypassing the digital converters and eliminating latency when tracking with precision is necessary.

Using Scarlett Solo is incredibly easy right out of the box—just plug it in with the included USB cable and go! But once you're up and running, take advantage of the incredible software collection that Focusrite has curated for their interfaces, including Ableton Live Lite, Avid Pro Tools Artist, and the Hitmaker Expansion. With everything from Antares Auto-Tune Access and Native Instruments MASSIVE to Softube's Marshall Silver Jubilee 2555, there's certainly something included for your musical applications. Regardless of if this is your first time recording your music or you need a robust and dependable interface for the road, it's hard to beat the value of Focusrite's Scarlett Solo 4th Gen.
