Manley Stereo Pultec EQ

Two is better than one, and the Manley Stereo Pultec EQ proves that by combining two of their fantastic Enhanced Pultec EQs, bringing with it a smooth passive equalizer design and all-tube amplification for a massive sound. Featuring two channels with identical parameter control and processing, the Stereo Pultec EQ expands upon the classic Pultec design with an extended frequency range, reaching from 20Hz all the way to 20kHz. Stick to the traditional design, each channel features three bands in which two are shelves opposite of each other and the third being a variable bandwidth bell-shape.

The low shelf can center around five different frequency points with both boosting up to +15dB and cutting down to -16dB. Blending both controls can achieve that classic Pultec shape of a boosted low end with a dip in the low-mids, great for shaping your kick drums and bass sounds. The bell-shaped high frequency control can hit mid-range to sizzling highs with a variable bandwidth and a boost up to +20dB, while the second high cutting shelf can calm the slightest amount of air, extending all the way to taming the majority of your high end. Similar to the low frequency boost/cut scenario, you can achieve interesting dips and boost combos with the interaction between the two high frequency bands.

The fantastic transformer and transformerless interfacing showcases its versatility in the studio and amongst audiophiles, while the all-tube amplification creates a stellar tone with loads of headroom thanks to the high-voltage powering Manley offers. For even more control over the stereo spectrum in one fell-swoop, the Manley Stereo Pultec EQ makes for a great sculpting tool on instruments, tracks, mix buses, and so much more.

Stereo Pultec EQ Features

  • Stereo tube equalizer
  • Two channels of an identical, passive three-band EQ
  • I/O consists of both unbalanced direct 1/4" (transformerless) or balanced XLR (transformer)
  • Silent boost, cut, and bandwidth controls
  • Three sections representing low frequency shelving, high frequency parametric, and high frequency shelving
  • LF shelves continuously boosts up to +15dB and cuts down to -16dB from a select number of frequency centers (20, 30, 60, 90, or 120Hz)
  • HF parametric bell continuously boosts up to +20dB and shapes the bandwidth from wide to narrow with slight relation to the boost control
  • HF parametric bell selects from a variety of frequency centers (1, 1.5, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 12, 14, or 16kHz)
  • HF shelf continuously cuts down to -21dB from a select number of frequency centers (4, 8, 12, 16, or 20kHz)
  • All-tube amplification process makes for a high voltage gain for beefy gain and quality
  • Vacuum Tubes: 1 x 12AX7 (gain) and 1 x 12BH7 (or 6414 or 5965) White Follower
  • Hi-current drive <50 Ohm LO-Z XLR & 1/4" outputs
  • Balanced Transformer-Coupled XLR Outputs via MANLEY 9611
  • Flat frequency response from 10Hz-70KHz
  • <0.01% THD @ 1kHz
  • S/N Ratio: 116 dB
  • Adjustable FEEDBACK / GAIN: Unity ±5 dB
  • Max. output: +30 dBv
  • Power consumption: 18 watts
  • Operating mains voltage: Units are purpose built for original destination country's mains voltage: 100V, 120V, or 220-240VAC as indicated on the serial number badge. Power transformer must be replaced in order to change mains operating voltage. 120VAC units may NOT be rewired to put the primaries of the power transformer in series for 220-240V operation or a large radiated field of hum will develop. If changing locations/voltages, the power transformer must be replaced with the dedicated one for the voltage at which it will operate.
  • Mains Voltage Frequency: 50~ 60Hz
  • Dimensions: 19" x 3 1/2" x 10" (occupies 1u)
