Michigan Synth Works MSW-810

Reaching back into the deep cuts of the Roland catalog, the Michigan Synth Works MSW-810 is an authentic recreation of the CMU-810 spruced up for the modern studio. Just like the original, you'll find a sound engine that's nearly identical to the MC-202, which is also similar to the beloved SH-101. However, rather than sporting an internal keyboard or sequencer, the MSW-810 is a desktop unit that requires external pitch and gate CV signals to create sounds. Once that is sorted out however, you'll find rich timbres just like the beloved Roland synths. There's a VCO with pulse and sawtooth waveforms, plus a sub oscillator, an analog lowpass filter with plenty of squelchy resonance, and a VCA with an envelope and LFO for modulation. It's hard to beat simplicity when done well, and that's exactly what you'll find in the MSW-810.
