The MOTU AVB (Audio Video Bridging) is a five-port Ethernet switch that accomplishes exactly what its name portends: bridging the gap between networking technology and professional audio/video applications by providing synchronized real time, low-latency, audio and video via Ethernet. 

The AVB Switch provides five 1 GB AVB ports that can connect to any other AVB compatible device, including other switches. There’s also an additional port for bridging to another Ethernet network. Additionally, any MOTU AVB device can be connected using a traditional shielded CAT5e or CAT6 cable. Here plug-and-play is the name of the game, simply connect the cable and get to work! On this note, the AVB Switch automatically discovers connected devices and provides additional network bandwidth management. The AVB boasts a powerful time base that extends across all networks, allowing for extremely accurate phase locking and timing accuracy. To this extent, network synchronization can be accomplished in an instant with a single click.
