Neumann M 150 Set

Based on Neumann's classic M 50 but with the benefit of additional design refinements over the years, the M 150 is a small diaphragm condenser typically used for recording orchestral instruments. While it maintains much of its predecessor's vintage characteristics thanks to its tube based design, the output stage is a modern transformer-less design, which helps to maintain low-end clarity even from the loudest of sources. While advertised as an omnidirectional microphone, it exhibits unique directional behaviors at higher frequencies, as the diaphragm capsule is a pressure transducer which modifies the response throughout the frequency spectrum. A handy -10 Db switch attenuates the microphones output, and another activates rumbles filters at 16 or 40 Hz to reduce the effect of sub audio frequencies on the capsule.
