Old Blood Noise Blackcap Asynchronous Harmonic Tremolo Pedal

Add some tremolo of a different flavor to your pedalboard with Blackcap, an asynchronous harmonic tremolo effect pedal from Old Blood Noise Endeavors. On the surface, this looks much like their Whitecap pedal with an inverted color palette, as it offers many of the same controls and an identical layout. But the biggest difference is that the digital tremolo now affects the harmonic content of the incoming audio, behaving more like a filter or EQ pedal with automation, crossfading between low and high frequencies rather than simply controlling volume. The analog tremolo side remains the same in operation, with the option to combine both in series and parallel configurations for clever sculpting of dynamics and spectrum in one pedal.

Blackcap Features

  • Dual hybrid tremolo pedal
  • Analog tremolo with rate, depth, and volume controls
  • Digital harmonic tremolo with rate, depth, and volume controls
  • Digital tremolo offers tap tempo and five different waveform shapes
  • Operates in series or parallel configurations
  • Dimensions: TBD
  • Power Specs: 9VDC center-negative pedal PSU (not included)

Dan Explains It All - Blackcap
Old Blood Noise is offering a harmonic take on their Whitecap dual asynchronous tremolo. The Blackcap retains the analog tremolo side of the original and takes the highly functional digital tap side into the realm of harmonic tremolo. Where before it turned your volume up and down, now it crossfades between your highs and lows. Mixed in parallel or series with the amplitude modulating tremolo, it’s a new aural experience.

Blackcap features:
An analog tremolo with rate, depth, and volume controls
A harmonic digital tremolo with rate, depth, and volume controls as well as tap tempo and five selectable waveforms
A series/parallel toggle to run analog into digital or both side by side
Volume boost available in each side
Expression jack for external tap control
Ramp mode to shift the speed up or down by holding the tap footswitch
Relay bypass switching and standard 9VDC center negative power
