Filled with gargantuan tones, the Pigtronix Star Eater is a heavy-hitting fuzz pedal packing punch and power thanks to its additional boost circuit and variable filter controls. Basic fuzz sounds can be found by hitting the Engage switch and dialing in Hunger and Volume for your desired gain and level of fuzz. For some further variety, Pigtronix included a Voice switch toggling between Silicon and Germanium clipping diodes for some different fuzz tones. But to go the extra mile, engage the Contour switch to add in the filtering stage, with its central frequency set by the Sweep control. Contour may be set to Bump or Scoop modes, imparting different tonal characteristics as the filter modifies the fuzz's harmonics. Much as its name suggests, Star Eater is poised to become an all-consuming force in your pedal rig.
