Poly Effects Hector

Using the same firmware as their Beebo effects pedal, Poly Effects' Hector brings effects, CV utilities, and virtual modular flexibility into the Eurorack format. The centerpiece is a gorgeous touchscreen interface which you use to navigate and build your workflow. With over 90 different modules to choose from, six inputs for CV or audio, eight outputs for CV or audio, and MIDI I/O, you could recreate your patch within your patch, so you can even patch your existing patch into your virtual patch.

Classic effects, like phasers, bitmangle, delay, and reverb, as well as incredibly helpful utilities like LFOs, VCAs, quantiser, wavefolder, and step sequencer makes Hector a versatile companion to your rack. Notably, there are also a few ports of beloved Mutable Instruments modules: Clouds texture synthesizer, Plaits macro-oscillator, Rings resonator, and Marbles controlled chaos generator.

Loopler, the name of the looper interface, is based on the Echoplex Digital Pro, adding a dynamic way to record and manipulate loops. Using much of the same concepts found in the original EDP, you can extend loops, add sections, replace phrases, and do standard speed adjustments as well. All controls can be mapped to CV or MIDI making the possibilities for generative loops quite interesting.

One of the few modules that uses convolution reverb, Hector allows you to import your own impulse responses or use one of the built-in spaces. Record your own or download others' to recreate a vintage tank, cavernous hall, famous recording studio, or natural environment. Authentic or psychedelic, a trickle or flood, the spatial environment is as malleable as you want it to be.

Hector expands the idea of an all-in-one module by giving simultaneous access to multiple effects and utilities in any order you want, any workflow you like. By mapping any of the parameters to MIDI or CV, you are not beholden to one way of engaging with the instrument. Have a single signal path, or multiple, simultaneous micro-patches thanks to the robust I/O, and you can save your workspace for future use, to backup, or to share. Custom tailored to your taste in whatever situation you find yourself in, Hector is what you need when you need it.
