The Gold Digger, from Radial Engineering, is a quad mic selector that affords the ability to compare four different microphones via the same preamp. It boasts a straight wire passive circuit design devoid of any transformers or audio buffers. Consequently, the Gold Digger makes use of military grade contact relays for the governance of its switching process. This implementation ensures a pristine and transparent mic signal devoid of any coloration, distortion, or artifacts.

The unit contains four XLR-F mic inputs alongside a single XLR-M output. Each channel features a selector switch that makes it possible to have one active mic at a time. It also provides 48V of Phantom Power that can be switched on or off for each microphone. If all that wasn’t convenient enough, the Gold Digger features set & forget trim controls that give users the ability to adjust each mic level, allowing them to produce identical relative outputs. The result is a powerful mic selector that drastically enhances studio workflow while simultaneously giving the artist more confidence in their sound.
