Radial Engineering PZ-Pro

Presenting the ultimate acoustic preamplification experience, Radial Engineering's PZ-Pro is a dual-channel acoustic instrument preamplifier that brings studio-quality sculpting to the stage. Both inputs feature 1/4" instrument inputs along with independent PZ boost switches to change the impedance for piezo-transducers. PZ-Pro's second input not only features polarity flipping for phase matching to the first input, but also features a microphone input with optional +48V phantom power for micing your acoustic instrument instead of relying on piezos. For performance, PZ-Pro can easily toggle between the two or set both to summed mono at output for a perfect blend.

Each input channel of PZ-Pro features its own controls for level, three-band EQ, and even a selectable notch or high pass filter for cleaning up problem frequencies and eliminating nasty feedback. The channels share a clean high-gain boost that can be adjusted to taste as well as engaged via the middle footswitch. The final and optional stage of processing is the inclusion of an FX loop for adding in external pedals, much like a traditional electric guitar setup might include. The FX loop can be set to either or both inputs as well as toggled or always on, determined by the recessed "loop on" switch on the left-hand side.

PZ-Pro offers an amplifier output to go directly to your onstage amp heads as well as two balanced mic-outputs to feed into a mixer or be further processed at microphone-level. The first direct output is a Pre EQ out for an unprocessed take that's great for capturing the cleanest tone, as well as a Post EQ out that takes everything into consideration and allows the full tone to be heard through a mixing console or recording setup. Both direct outputs feature polarity flip switches as well as ground lifting to clean up any phase issues and ground loop noise & hum, respectively. With the addition of a buffered tuner output unaffected by the final mute switch, the PZ-Pro from Radial Engineering encompasses everything you need to have a stellar tone and blend of up to two acoustic instruments.
