Radial Engineering SB-1
The SB-1 Acoustic, from Radial Engineering, is an active direct box designed with portability in mind. Small enough to fit inside a guitar case, the unit is one of Radial’s most compact devices.
External signals can be routed into the unit via its 1/4” input, and there’s a thru input that can be routed to a tuner or an amplifier. The unit features an active circuit that alters the signal from high to low impedance, minimizing any potential noise. After this, the single is buffered and balanced for external routing. There’s also 48V Phantom Power so users can connect an even wider range of microphones!
If all this wasn’t enough, the SB-1 Acoustic also features a -15dB pad for reducing the sensitivity of the input when used in tandem with louder instruments, like electric basses or keyboards.
