The Monolith Frequency Modulating Reverb from Raw Yaw Media brings some West Coast flavor to your effects chain with an experimental take on a pitch-shifting shimmer reverb. Inspired by additive and FM techniques of West Coast synthesis, Monolith integrates an on-board oscillator to modulate reverb pitch, providing classic shimmer reverb tones as well as deeply morphed and mangled stereo audio using the wealth of modulation options available in the unit.

The internal FM oscillator has 1V/Oct CV control of frequency, as well as a shape control that morphs between sine, triangle, and square waveforms. A clock input and gate output provide ways to synchronize the period of the modulating oscillator to other signals in your patch, or the other way around. Adding even further character to the unit is a button or gate-accessible quantization feature, which provides two pitch quantization tables for the FM effect that shift pitch either evenly or unevenly to produce results with varying degrees of tonality and temper.

At the output stage, the FM reverb is blended with a filtered reverb via the blend knob to dial in your tone even further. This filtered output is processed by a single-knob DJ-style filter, capable of generous cuts to low or high frequencies on either side of the 12 o'clock knob position. Knob and CV controls for the wet/dry mix are included to perfectly dial in the amount of effect mixed with the original input signal.
