Roland FANTOM-7

Roland's FANTOM series is their flagship workstation featuring classic sounds, intuitive workflow, and exceptional playability making it a perfect studio centerpiece. FANTOM-7 has done away with modes and uses a workflow called Scenes, which contain all the layers of your sound, the grouping of clips, and everything else that forms the basis of your song or performance. The sound engines available are superb featuring Roland's analog modeling called ZEN-Core, sample-based, pulse code modulation (PCM) synthesis engine, along with the SuperNATURAL and V-Piano engines, making the FANTOM-7 incredibly versatile. ZEN-Core uses partials to create its tones and each partial is its own complete synth voice with each tone capable of having four partials, and each scene able to have 16 tones. The sampling power on the FANTOM-7 is where it gets wild with up to 352 samples per tone and the ability to sample directly to the pads. Take these samples over to the ZEN-Core engine and you have a custom sound. With V-Piano and the ability to access different analog modeled hardware from the Roland Creative Cloud, your sound options are truly limitless. If things weren't awesome enough, there's a stereo analog filter with low pass, high pass, and band pass modes.

Playing a FANTOM-7 is an experience unto itself with smooth realistic keybeds and high resolution controls, you can fine tune your sounds easily. Using the three USB plugs, foot pedal jacks, and aftertouch, you can fully express yourself with any external or internal device you'd like. As you create your track, you'll notice the intuitive sequencing options thanks to the short looping sections, called clips, that can be tied to others in a row and contain all our musical data. If you're familiar with the TR-808, or TR-909 drum machines, you'll easily be able to program your perfect rhythmic lines using the TR-style sequencer.

Roland's FANTOM-7 can function as a 16x3 audio/MIDI interface with deep integration with Ableton, Logic, Garageband, and Mainstage when connected to a computer. Two channels of CV/gate outputs let you easily connect to your analog synth hardware.

Whether you want a companion to your studio's computer DAW, are looking to ditch the computer on stage, or looking for a distraction-free inspiration machine, the Roland FANTOM-7 is something to consider.
