Rupert Neve's 545 Primary Source Enhancer is a tool developed for enhancing primary sound sources in live performance while simultaneously providing natural, analog feedback reduction. Based on the Portico 5045, the 545 is a 500-series module ideal for use with mono vocal or instrument mics in need of feedback suppression. By reducing gain when signal is absent and monitoring gain (even increasing by up to 20dB!), the 545 breaches past the typical "noise gate" approach and offers smooth, natural transitions that, in the right circumstances, work their magic completely unnoticed.
