Regardless of your signal chain, the 5057 Orbit promises to provide legendary Neve sound in one of the most compact and easy to use summing mixers available. Going a step further, the 5057 Orbit provides a simple but effective means of shaping the class-A transformer section's harmonic saturation to the needs of your mix via the Silk and Texture controls. While the overall amount of saturation is defined by Texture, Silk comes in two flavors: Red mode enhances higher frequencies, while Blue adds additional low-end. Bypassing Silk also disables the Texture knob, but pushing the levels on the incoming channels will drive the transformers on their own. There's also handy front panel switches to convert the first four stereo pairs into mono, and larger studios can chain up to four 5057 units together for 64 total channels of analog summing goodness.
