Rupert Neve Designs Master Buss Converter

Performing equally well as an analog limiter and A/D converter, the Master Buss Converter from Rupert Neve Designs is the transfer point from high quality analog to high quality digital sound. Get transparent sound from the transformerless signal path, or use Rupert Neve's Silk circuitry for a rich classic transformer sound. The variable Silk allows you to dial in the amount of harmonic content. Red highlights mid and upper harmonics, while blue emphasizes low end. The transformerless signal path retains the punchy harmonics of your sound without coloration. These two signal paths complement each other and can be used in conjunction for a wide range of tonal possibilities.

The analog limiter achieves a high degree of accuracy and transparency, keeping the soul of your track intact while retaining control over the amplitude and dynamics. To help reign in the upper harmonics of your sound, a sweepable high pass filter has been implemented with a range from 20–250Hz. The class-A amplifier circuit is capable of adding up to 20dB of clean gain to your input sources. Tailor the limiter threshold level and release time to your sound, which allows you to dial in the perfect response. The limiter can be used in mono, dual mono, or stereo operation, selected by switch.

Rupert Neve Designs spent years perfecting their A/D conversion and the MBC reflects this work. The 24-bit/192kHz resolution and ultra-low jitter clock provide incredible detail and make your digital audio sound as good as your analog. Sample rate is variable from 44.1kHz all the way up to 192kHz, making it easy to tailor your sample rate to the project at hand. Use the MBC has an incredibly stable clock source or hook up to an external clock to sync to another clocking source in your studio. Inputs include two combination XLR/TRS input jacks and the outputs include AES, S/PDIF, and TOSLINK. High precision monitoring for both input channels are clearly visible and give accurate metering of the levels with one or three second peak hold length. To integrate with your other multichannel digital devices, four levels from 14dBFS to 20dBFS can be selected to accurate match levels between converters.

The Master Buss Converter is a great way to get fantastic sounding and accurate reproduction of your analog sound in the digital realm.
