The Sequential Prophet XL is a titanic polysynth which represents the apex of today's sampling and digital synthesis technology. Designed with piano players in mind, the new Fatar weighted keybed provides a natural, expressive feel for traditional keyboard sounds and more.

The Prophet XL boasts the same massive sampling library and revolutionary sound engine of its predecessor, the Prophet X, with a default setting of two sample-based instruments and two digital oscillators per voice, along with thick analog SSI2144 filters for every voice. The XL is capable of 32-voice polyphony with one sample and one oscillator per voice, making the it an even more powerful source for sounds such as electric piano, bells, and ambient pads. And that's not all: the XL features a 76-key weighted Fatar keybed with velocity and channel aftertouch for an even more realistic playing experience. Keyboardists will delight in the intimate, natural feel now afforded to all of the sounds the Prophet XL can produce.

And of course, all of the features of the Prophet X are retained: polyphonic step sequencing, stacked sounds, and a powerful sampling engine capable of timestretching, granular effects, and simply pristine sample playback. That is to say nothing of the digital oscillators, analog filters, four five-stage envelopes, four LFOs, and 16-slot modulation matrix, which make classic synth sound design an absolute luxury.
