Tiptop Audio VORTEX

VORTEX from Tiptop Audio is a wavetable oscillator, designed as a building block for polyphonic Eurorack modular systems utilizing their new ART protocol. ART, like MIDI, is a digital data stream, but transmission occurs at a much higher rate and configuration is abstracted away in an ART controller module like OCTOPUS. The result is a more stable and universal system of tuning compared to 1V/Oct voltages, but it remains as easily patchable as analog signals.

Inspired by vintage wavetable synthesizers like the PPG Wave, VORTEX actually makes use of vintage digital-analog converters from the 1980s, giving authentic crispness to its waveforms. Numerous wavetables are available, while user tables may be loaded in from the SD card. Select and scan through wavetables manually or with CV, and also introduce internal vibrato as desired. ART input allows for precision pitch control from OCTOPUS or other ART signal generators, and the courtesy gate output at the bottom corresponds to note events, easily allowing you to sync envelopes and other modules to VOTEX notes.
