Universal Audio added David Bock to their team and with that comes his outstanding microphones, such as the Bock 167 large-diaphragm tube microphone. Manufactured in Santa Cruz, each microphone is calibrated by David Bock to ensure high quality. Known in the industry for his highly prized microphones, David Bock brings his designs to Universal Audio to use their state-of-the-art facilities. Each microphone is designed and manufactured as they always have been: in small batches by hand. Tube mics have been a specialty of David Bock and so the Bock 167 is truly something special. Using the highest quality components is important because tube mics have a deceptively simple design that means you can hear every slight imperfection. The Bock 167 uses a brass 6 micron capsule for incredible sensitivity and hand wired components, but also features several handy features. A continuously variable polar pattern moves from omni to cardioid to figure 8 that's adjustable on the power supply. Three switches also give you the option to add a 10dB attenuator, switch between 4 high frequency boost/cut options, as well as engage the unique Fat setting that instantly opens up the low-end for a huge sound.
