The Future Sound Systems TG5 Pre-Amplifier is an envelope follower and interface for guitar and line-level signals to bring them into the modular environment. The incoming signal is first routed through of FET stage of the amplifier. After the first FET, the signal is routed to both a clean THAT VCA and two more FET amplification stages. The THAT VCA output is available at the clean output jack. Bite overdrives the high frequencies present at the input before the VCA stage and affects both the master and clean outputs. The line in is normalized to the guitar input and will be silenced when a jack is present at the input. The gain has range of 40dB and has CV input with attenuator. The sensitivity control sets the threshold level of the rms detector present on the THAT VCA.

The TG5 has both positive and negative envelope outputs. The gate & trig output generates gate signals superimposed with trigger signals used to reset envelope generators at transients. The tone stack is a simple three-band EQ with bass, mid, and treble controls. The TG5 brings guitars into your setup and can be used to finally create a hybrid guitar effect/modular Gristleizer with the ability to add additional sound processing and modulation.
